Description:

You will assist with projects at every level:

This position typically starts around $42,000 base salary and is commensurate with experience. In addition to your base salary, you’ll be eligible to participate in our bonus pool after each quarter. Data Scientist

The most impactful Republican polling and analytics firm in the nation is seeking a top recruit to join our data team as a Data Scientist.. In this job, you will build models of public opinion, voting behavior, media usage, and other politically-relevant views and activities, and use these models to shape campaign strategy for political campaigns, party organizations, and advocacy groups.

Responsibilities and Duties: 

A Data Scientist at WPA Intelligence is a core member of our data science team, and will serve as data science lead on projects as well as be involved in assorted data and development tasks. These individuals are responsible for:

  • Building models of public opinion and political behavior, constructing target universes, and participating in advising clients as to data-driven campaign strategy.
  • Developing surveys and survey experiments informed by political science.
  • Conducting quantitative analysis of electoral data and other information to help clients’ achieve their goals.
  • Building data visualizations and graphic representations of data.
  • Assisting in analytics product development.
  • Managing data science projects and interns and coordinating with other departments.

Qualifications:

  • Solid knowledge of tidyverse R, SQL knowledge is a plus.
  • Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks from many different stakeholders.
  • A willingness to work for Republican candidates and conservative causes (Active desire preferred)
  • Knowledge of American politics, marketing, political psychology, and/or polling.
  • Experience in managing resources and teams is a plus.

Project Management Associate

Description:

This is an ideal position for those who have worked with data on campaigns or those with some experience in the political or market research realms. You will assist with projects at every level of politics and eventually move more into a leadership role.

  • Develop pre-survey stratifications
  • Develop, design, and check cross tabs
  • Review and edit survey programs to ensure 100% accuracy
  • Format data and documents throughout the progression of projects
  • Assist and maintain data accuracy.
  • Produce data deliverables and post-survey weighting.
  • All in an effort to give clients a competitive edge over their opponent(s).

    Data Science Internship

     

     

    WPA Intelligence welcomes undergraduate and graduate students to participate in our rolling internship program. Data science interns will gain valuable experience in analytics, modeling, consulting, politics, marketing and analysis from the nation’s most innovative polling, analytics, and data firms. This internship is available in our Washington D.C. office.

    In this job, you will support the operations of data-driven campaigns up and down the ballot, from school board to president. Data Science interns will gain valuable experience in data science and politics from the nation’s most innovative polling, analytics, and data firm. Internships are available in our Washington, DC office only.

    Intern Daily Job Responsibilities:

    • A Data Science intern at WPA is a member of our data science team and will assist on daily data science tasks. These individuals are responsible for: 
    • Pulling samples for modeling and polling surveys.
    • Working closely with the research team an account executives to generate counts and lists based on client’s needs. 
    • Generate reports to gauge the current state of a race.
    •  Background research on various elections, clients, and issues.
    • Assist in building and cleaning modeling presentations for clients.
    • Assist in various other data support tasks.

    Intern Qualifications:

    • Solid foundation in R, preferably Tidyverse.
    • SQL knowledge is a plus but not required.
    • Strong time management skills and the ability to juggle demands from multiple stakeholders.
    • Ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • A willingness to work for Republican candiates and conservative causes (active desire preferred).
    • Knowledge of American politics, marketing, political psychology, and/or polling is a plus.

    Research Internship

This internship is available in our Washington D.C. office.

     

    Intern Daily Job Responsibilities:

    • Background research on prospective clients and issue areas.
    • Pulling together topline results and writing memos to clients from recent polling.
    • Creating and editing research presentations for client projects.
    • Analyzing poll and analytics data.
    • Access to free coffee and snacks.

    Intern Qualifications:

    • Has a passion for conservative politics, policy, campaigns, and elections.
    • Reads poll results and cares about the latest in who’s winning and losing and what issues matter to voters and our clients.
    • Took coursework in two or more of the following: political science, public policy, statistics, computer sciences or programming, sociology, government, international relations, communications, business, economics, or any blended coursework that teaches qualitative and quantitative research concepts.
    • Does not fear numbers or trying new technologies.
