WPA Intelligence, a large, national Republican opinion research and data science firm is seeking a Research Associate to join our Research Team.

A Project Management Associate at WPA Research is the core member of a three or four person research team. These individuals are responsible for:

  • Developing, designing, and checking crosstabs;
  • Formatting data and documents throughout the progression of each project;
  • Working with SPSS to conduct basic regressions and data analysis;
  • Assisting with maintaining data accuracy through a keen eye for detail;
  • Eager to learn.

This is an ideal position for both those recently graduated, and those with some experience in the political or market research realms. Successful candidates will be self-motivated, able to manage their own time and work, able to track projects as they progress and ensure necessary steps for each project are completed along the way, and able to take pride in an accurate, job well done. While an eye for detail, an ability to keep track of several projects at different stages to ensure deadlines are met, and a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are most vital.

Good to Have:

  • A working knowledge of SPSS and/or R. Past experience in the market research realm, specifically, polling. An understanding of how crosstabulation works, is created, and may be read
  • Reads poll results and cares about the latest in who’s winning and losing and what issues matter to voters and our clients.
  • Took coursework in two or more of the following: political science, public policy, statistics, computer sciences or programming, sociology, government, international relations, communications, business, economics, or any blended coursework that teaches qualitative and quantitative research concepts.
  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced office setting with collaboration, debate, and Nerf gun fights.

Benefits:

This position is an entry level position that typically starts around $40,000 base salary and is commensurate with experience. In addition to your base salary, you’ll be eligible to participate in our bonus pool after each quarter. In addition, WPA pays 60% of your medical, dental and vision insurance. We also offer a retirement 401K match at 4%. Finally, WPA has a flexible time off policy as well as snacks and coffee provided the office.
